Plains Cotton Growers elect new officers

At the Plains Cotton Growers Board of Directors Meeting April 1, the organization conducted officer and executive committee elections.PCG board chairman Brent Nelson rotated off of the officer team, but will continue serving on the PCG PAC board as a trustee.

Levelland set to host Regional Round Table event

The “West” Texas Downtown Regional Round Table event will be hosted in the City of Mosaics, downtown Levelland, May 15.The event is set to begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 2:30 p.m. It will be hosted at Studebaker Events, 920 Avenue H.

Early voting begins April 22

The Hockley County Election Office is reminding registered voters that early voting for local city and school elections will begin Monday, April 22.The City of Levelland will have a Mayor’s race on the ballot and all registered voters in the City of Levelland are eligible to vote in the election.

Comptroller delivers millions toward rural law enforcement

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar said his office delivered nearly $126 million in financial assistance to rural law enforcement and prosecutor offices as part of a grant program that is addressing challenges faced by these groups in counties with small populations.

4/9/2024 - DISPATCHED 3:10 A.M. - CLEARED 4:25 A.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY The LFD was dispatched to a possible grass fire near FM 3585 and N. 385. While enroute, the unit began to see flames and smoke coming from the area. Once on scene, it was determined the fire was a medium sized grass fire.
