PUCT releases second quarter recovery results

The Public Utility Commission of Texas secured refunds and bill credits of $94,773.30 for Texas electric, water, and telecommunications consumers in the second quarter of Fiscal Year 2024 (Dec. 2023 – Feb. 2024).

3/9/2024 - DISPATCHED 7:07 P.M. - CLEARED 7:12 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY The LFD received a call in reference to an oil well fire in the 3200 block of W. Highway 114. While enroute, the unit was canceled as it was discovered the fire was a controlled burn and fire personnel was not needed.

Roughettes sweep Ralls in district play

The Sundown Roughettes took on the Ralls Lady Jackrabbits this past Monday and Tuesday in district play for UIL Softball Action where they swept them 13-3 and 10-1.Sundown 13, Ralls 3For the Roughettes first matchup against Ralls they were the visiting team where they won 13-3.

LOBO LAKE IMPROVEMENTS - The Lobo Lake Park is receiving some improvments, as CC Concreate Creations have begun working on the horseshoe walking path. The project is part of a series of upgrades at the park that also include benches and trash cans. The majority of the project is funded through a Texas Parks Parks and Wildlife Grant. Open burning reminder amid wildfire conditions

Wildfire conditions continue to pose a threat to the West Texas and Panhandle areas as temperatures rise and wind speeds increase with little to no humidity.The Levelland Fire Department has responded to multiple calls regarding community members open burning within the city limits of Levelland.

SPC sets Judy Bryant Fitness Court ribbon cutting

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, South Plains College and National Fitness Campaign announced Tuesday a partnership to bring an outdoor Fitness Court and digital wellness programming to SPC’s Levelland campus at 1401 S. College Ave.
