The Levelland Loboettes volleyball team picked up a 3-2 road victory this past Tuesday night against Big Spring in dramatic fashion, pulling off the reverse sweep.
The set scores were 1625, 21-25, 25-15, 25-22 and 15-12 as Levelland flipped the match momentum on its head to improve to 11-22 overall and 4-7 in district play this season.
It was a gritty team performance by the Loboettes and it was powered by several fantastic individual performances.
Senior middle blocker Trinity Wafer led the Loboettes in kills with 14, also adding nine service points, four aces and a block.
Junior outside hitter Mia Sepulbeda led Levelland with 16 service points, also adding five kills and three aces.
Senior outside hitter Hailee Estrada also put together a great performance with 10 service points, three aces and eight kills.
Their three performances were key in Levelland edging out Big Spring in both team service points and aces.
It’s always nice to get a win, but unfortunately the Loboettes have been eliminated from playoff contention.
Regardless of the playoffs, they still took down a quality district opponent, who’s third in the standings and will make the postseason.
They can be proud of that fact and carry that momentum into their final game against Lubbock Estacado this weekend at home and try to end the season with two straight wins.
