Ropes, Whiteface win Bi-District, advance in playoffs

The Ropes Eagles and the Whiteface Antelopes football teams both won their respective playoff matchups to secure Bi-District titles this past week.

This past Thursday in the 2A-2 playoffs, Ropes beat the McCamey Badgers 76-6 at Snyder High School, to improve to 10-1 overall and advance to the next round of the playoffs.

The matchup was utter domination as the Eagles as a team rushed for 244 yards, recorded nine sacks and 31 tackles for loss, also scoring three special teams touchdowns.

The game was over at halftime as Ropes was up 55-0. Congratulations to the Eagles on the Bi-District Championship effort.

Their second-round playoff matchup is against the Farwell Steers (7-3) this Fri- day at 7 p.m. in Littlefield, Texas, at Wildcat Stadium.

It’s located on Stadium Avenue at East 14th. Farwell is the home team and Ropes is the visiting team.

A day after the Eagles won their Bi-District title, Whiteface won their own in the 1A-1 six-man playoffs after beating the Garden City Bearkats 58-36 at Klondike High School.

The win improves Whiteface to 9-2 overall and advances them to the next round of the playoffs.

It was an extremely hard-fought victory as Garden City put up a real fight and even held a 36-- 28 lead against the Antelopes in the third quarter.

Whiteface would reel off four straight touchdowns to close out the game and put the nail in the coffin.

The difference in the game would be Whiteface’s 236 rushing yards and three defensive interceptions.

Congratulations to the Antelopes on the Bi-District Championship win.

Their second-round playoff matchup will be against the Booker Kiowas (9-2) this Friday at 7 p.m in Lockney, Texas, at Mitchell Zimmerman Field.

It’s located on 117-199 SE 6th St. Booker is the home team and Whiteface is the visiting team.
