Lady Eagles beat Wink, 63-25, to win Bi-District Championship

The Ropes Lady Eagles faced off against Wink in a Bi-District playoff basketball matchup this past Monday night, resulting in the Lady Eagles winning 6325 to secure the Bi-District Championship.

It was domination from start to finish as the Lady Eagles outscored Wink in every quarter, so much so, that the Lady Eagles could’ve gone scoreless in the second half and still would have won by double-digits.

“We stepped on the floor ready to play last night and with a chip on our shoulder,” Lady Eagles Head Basketball Coach Marianne Wolfe said. “I thought the girls executed the game plan to perfection, and Brooklyn Hogg really took charge in making that happen on both ends of the floor. Incredibly proud of our defensive effort and intensity and holding a good Wink team to just 25 points.” Hogg had an unbelievable performance on the night, single-handedly scoring as many points as Wink did as a team with 25. Hogg’s performance was powered by three three-pointers made and 2/2 free throws made.

Other Lady Eagles scorers included Rylie Lester with nine points behind 4/6 free throws made, Zailyn Wylie with eight points, Kamdyn Matus with six points, Karli Rhoads with five points, Annabelle Falls with four points, and Macie Lehnen and Sydney Brooks both with two points.

The win improves the Lady Eagles to 22-11 overall this season and advances them to the Area Round of the playoffs.

They’ll face Reagan County at Lamesa High School over the weekend, who is 21-12 overall this season and finished fourth in 2A District 7.
