LEA CAY FARR
Lea Cay (Sanders) Farr, 69 years old of Levelland, Texas began dancing on Heaven’s streets of gold on Sept. 11, 2026. She passed away peacefully at home with her husband and both sons beside her after a valiant fight. The last weeks of her life were filled with visits from friends and family.
Her journey to Glory blessed healthcare workers, patients, friends, and family from Lubbock to Phoenix as her assignment was to complete this journey as a ministry.
Visitation was held Friday, Sept. 18, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Krestridge Funeral Home in Levelland. A memorial servicewas held on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 1:30 p.m. at Church on the Rock in Levelland.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Danny Farr of Levelland and by their beloved children Austin Farr and his wife Jordan of Andrews, Texas and Chad Farr and his wife Ashley of Lamesa, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Susan Sanders of Lubbock.
Lea Cay’s great loves were her six grandsons: Grady, Gunner and Gus Farr, sons of Austin and Jordan Farr and Mack, Rydge, and Rodes Farr, sons of Chad and Ashley Farr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” and Ora Lee Sanders, by her brother Bill Sanders, and by her fatherin- law, Ben Farr. Also welcoming her to Heaven are her grandsons, Maverick Farr and L.G. Farr.
Lea Cay lived, loved, and worked for the Glory of the Father. After retiring from a career with Pennzoil, Devon Energy, and Chevron Lea Cay participated in mission trips to Columbia, India, South Africa, Tanzania, Thailand, Transnistria, and Uganda. Regardless of the language barrier, both children and adults flocked to her.
This love for mission work took root when Lea Cay visited Romania as a high school member of the Wesley Singers of First United Methodist Church in Lubbock. Lea Cay had a magnificent singing voice. She not only sang, but also used her talents to lead several children’s choirs. She was also an accomplished pianist.
A native of Lubbock, Lea Cay was an honor student at Coronado High School. She continued her education at Austin College for one year until she returned home to help care for her ailing mother. She graduated from Texas Tech and was a lifelong learner, studying German and also developing skills as a gardener, baker, and chef who embraced the complete cycle of life in food; from planting, tending and harvesting to canning and milling fresh breads. She had a thirst for studying the Bible. She was also an avid outdoors woman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. Her unique accomplishments included being a certified muleskinner. She had a special affinity for hummingbirds and they for her.
Since 1998 she was an active member of the New Horizon Emmaus Community and in 2011 served as lay director for Women’s Walk #49. She was a blessing to all who knew her.
