Mario Quintanilla,64, of Levelland passed from this life on Oct. 7,2026.
Mario was born Feb. 15, 1962 in Lubbock, Texas to Guadalupe and Maria Torrez Quintanilla. Mario graduated from Ropesville High School in 1981. In 1996 Mario and Bernarda began their life together in Lubbock, moving to Ropesville and finally settling down in Levelland in 1998.
Mario worked many, many, many jobs. He started early working for Miller Bros in Ropesville. He enjoyed farm work, working on the wireline, and driving for Key Energy. He spent a little time at Bryant Electric and Wilbur-Ellis. He also worked for Hockley County doing road maintenance. His favorite job would have to be working for Dewey Ellison doing ranch work. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of his final years were spent tending to his peach trees and just taking care of everything around the house. He also enjoyed spending time outside with his grandchildren who brought him the most joy.
He is preceded in death by his parents Guadalupe and Maria Quintanilla; brothers Armando, Gilberto, and Mike Quintanilla; sisters Janie Quintanilla and Elia DeLeon.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years Bernarda; their daughter Sara; and his beloved grandchildren, Midnight and Omen. He is also survived by his older children Alexandria and Jake Quintanilla; brothers Lupe Quintanilla, Frank (Sylvia) Quintanilla, Rudy Quintanilla, Rocky (Gloria) Quintanilla, and Marty (Irma) Quintanilla; sisters Elda (Noe) Torres and Delia (Ralph) Cruz; along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held at Krestridge Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p. m. on Tuesday, October 13,2026 with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass was held at 11 a. m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Interment followed in the City of Levelland Cemetery.
