Graveside services for Mrs. Delfina Murillo Tienda of Levelland, 81, were held Friday Jan. 20, at 10 a.m. in City of Levelland Cemetery with Father Jonathan Phillips officiating.
Services were under the direction of Head Duarte Funeral Home.
She died Jan. 11, 2023 in Levelland.
She was born Dec. 25, 1941 in Nevo Leon, Mexico to Valentin and Delfina Lopez Murillo.
Delfina Murillo Tienda married Anselmo “Chemo” Tienda on Nov. 7, 1966 in Levelland. They had two sons from this union. She worked for Tienda’s Tortilla Factory, Mexitera Restaurant and South Plains College for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, Anselmo “Chemo” Tienda; brothers: Antonio, Aurelio and Louis Murillo and sisters: Crescencia Coronado, Anita Miereles, Candelaria Garica.
She is survived by her sons: Javier Tienda and Eliasar Tienda, both of Levelland; four grandchildren: Jeremy (Stephanie) Tienda, Javier (Karissa) Tienda, Jr., Alyssa Logan, Bryan (Brandy) Tienda; nine great-grandchildren; her brother, Abraham (Gloria) Murillo of Levelland; sister-inlaw: Gloria Murillo of Levelland and a host of nieces and nephews.
