Funeral services scheduled for Ascencion Alaquinez, Jr.

Funeral services for Ascencion Alaquinez, Jr., 55, of Levelland, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 12, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, with Deacon Sergio Vidales officiating.

Internment will be held at a later date in the City of Levelland Cemetery, under the direction of Head Duarte Funeral Home of Levelland.

Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, January 10 and will continue Wednesday, January 11, at Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel, with the reciting of the Rosary to be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Visitation will resume at 9 a.m. until time of service, Thursday, January 12, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. He passed away January 8, 2023 in Levelland.

Ascencion Jr. was born May 28, 1967, to Acucion Sr. and Noberta Ontiveros Alaquinez, in San Antonio.

He attended school in Whiteface and worked as a farmer for more than 15 years for Joe Haygood Farms of Levelland.

He married Christine Sanchez October 13, 1995, in Levelland. They had one son from this union.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Noberta Ontiveros Alaquinez; and spouse of 27 years, Christine Sanchez Alaquinez.

He is survived by his son, Justin Lee Alaquinez of Levelland; father, Acucion Alaquinez, Sr.; brother, Larry Alaquinez; and sister, Rosalinda Alaquinez, all of Levelland.
