ELMA RUIZ

Elma Ruiz, 86, of Levelland, went to be with the Lord on December 27, 2022.
Elma was a loving mom, nurturing grandmother and caring sister.
She was a homemaker and pet lover who filled every room she walked into with an abundance of warmth and love.
Elma was known for her kindness and sense of humor, She was born in Mission, Texas, November 13, 1936.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfonso Ruiz; and her parents.
She is survived by her brothers: Jesse Villarreal, Manual Garcia and wife, Kate Garcia of Mission; and her sisters: Lupe Longoria of Ojo de agua, Texas, Petra Nercado of Edinburg, Texas, and Elida Alvies of Grand Prairie, Texas.
Elma and Alfonso created a big, loving home together and had six daughters and three sons.
She is also survived by her nine children: Olga and husband, Orlando Lozano, Adriana and husband, Santiago Samarron, Diana and husband, Rick Clem, Julio and wife, Lorie Ruiz, Alfredo Ruiz, Alfonso and wife, Mary Hope Ruiz and Elena Young, all of Levelland and Margo and husband, Wenceslao Santiago of San Antonio and Anita Martinez (Hector Valenzuela) of Midland.
Elma was a beloved grandmother who adored all 28 grandchildren, 51 greatgrandchildren and 12 great-greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 29, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
Interment followed in the City of Levelland Cemetery, under the direction of Krestridge Funeral Home of Levelland.
The reciting of the Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, at Krestridge Funeral Home.
