FRANCES RUTH GILLEAN
Frances Ruth Gillean, 81, of Levelland, passed away January 12, 2023.
She was born April 9, 1941, to John and Ruth Breeden, in Levelland.
Frances attended Levelland High School and South Plains College.
She was a lifelong resident of Levelland and attended both Fifth Street Baptist Church and Second Baptist Church over the years.
Frances worked in various careers as a butcher at Green’s Grocery, a Pumper for Getty and Texaco, and taught CPR/First Aid at Covenant Hospital Levelland for 40 years.
She was married to Lex Gillean I, in Aspen, Colorado on July 17, 1978.
Frances was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth; father, John; a daughter, Niki Jones; and two sisters-in-law, Gaylan Cobb and Doris Gillean.
She is survived by her husband, Lex Gillean II of Levelland; son, Lex Gillean II and wife, Chelsey, of Lubbock; brother, John Breeden II and wife, Shirley Breeden of Brownfield; brothers-in-law, David Cobb of Lubbock and Dr. William Otho Gillean Jr. of Austin; son-in-law, Stefan Jones; and seven grandchildren: Frances Atha of Levelland, Katherine Atha and Kerry Weaver of Hawaii, Daniel and Samantha Atha of Seabrook, Callie Gillean and Caden Gillean of Lubbock.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 16, from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Krestridge Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be held at the Second Baptist Church in Levelland Tuesday, January 17, at 2 p.m.
Interment will follow immediately at City of Levelland Cemetery.
