Jerry Atchison

A memorial service for Jerry Atchison, 86, of Levelland, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 14, at 13th Street and Avenue K Church of Christ, with Elgin Conner officiating.

He passed away December 30, 2022, in Lubbock.

Jerry was born April 12, 1936, to Paul and Noma Atchison, in Levelland.

After spending 20 years in Arizona farming and operating a convenience store, he and JoAnn moved back to Levelland to own and operate J&J Food Mart for 22 years before retiring.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Neil and wife, Kay Atchison; sister and brother-inlaw, Nova Jean and husband, Hudson Routh; and a grandson, Derek Atchison.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, JoAnn Atchison; daughter, Vicki Garza; son, Keith Atchison and wife, Sharon; daughter, Jill Mote and husband, Kenny; six grandchildren: Chris Garza, Kolby Mote and wife, Brennen, Tanner Mote and Luca Brink and wife, Angie; and six great-grandchildren: Cami Garza, Caiden Garza and Addi, Cooper, Blair and Darcy Brink.
