Roughnecks beat Sudan, 49-36, improve to 7-5

Last week the Sundown Roughnecks went on the road to face the Sudan Hornets and came away with a 49-36 win.

The win improves the Roughnecks to 7-5 on the season, while dropping the Hornets to 4-5.

Kye Powell led the Roughnecks offense in the win with 21 points and two three-pointers made, followed by Nathan McAdams with 12 points.

Other scorers included Isaiah Igo and Rylan Carr, both with five points and Josh Hogan with four points.

Following the win, the Roughnecks will enjoy the holiday break before returning to action in the Littlefield Wildcat Classic on Monday through Wednesday.

The Roughnecks kick off tournament play on Monday at 5:20 p.m. in the main gym against the Stanton Buffaloes.

Their bracket pool includes Dumas, Littlefield Junior Varsity, Tulia, Olton, New Home, Denver City, Fort Stockton, Whiteface, Farwell, Nazareth, Stanton, Sudan and Littlefield.
