The Sundown Roughnecks basketball team traveled on the road to face the New Deal Lions this past Tuesday night, losing 60-43. The loss drops the Roughnecks to 6-5 this season, while New Deal improves to 9-4 overall. “I thought we battled really well in the last three quarters,” Roughnecks Head Coach Kyle Igo said. “We got off to a rough start in the first but gradually adjusted and figured some things out the rest of the night.”
The slow start was costly and too much to overcome against a quality opponent, but several Roughnecks still put together great performances in the loss.
Nathan McAdams led Sundown with 16 points, followed by Kye Powell with 15 points, Josh Hogan with six points, and Athan Peralez and Coen Nevarez both with three points.
The Roughnecks have one more game over the weekend before Christmas break, then they’ll return to action on Dec. 29-31 at the Littlefield tournament.
