Six local football teams make playoffs

The Texas high school football playoff field is set, and six of our locally covered teams have earned a postseason spot.

The Levelland Lobos (6-4) earned a spot in the 4A-2 playoffs as the third seed in their district. They will face off against the Seminole Indians (7-3) this Thursday at 7 p.m. at Frenship High School.

The Ropes Eagles (9-1) earned a spot in the 2A-2 playoffs as district champions and a top seed. They will play the McCamey Badgers (3-7) this Thursday at 7 p.m. at Snyder High School.

The Sundown Roughnecks (4-6) earned a spot in the 2A-2 playoffs as the fourth seed in their district. They will play the Wink Wildcats (8-2) this Thursday at 7 p.m. at Andrews High School.

The Morton Indians (2-71) earned a spot in the 2A-2 playoffs as the fourth seed in their district. They will face off against the Stratford Elks (8-2) this Thursday at 7 p.m. at Hereford High School.

The Whiteface Antelopes (8-2) earned a spot in the six-man 1A-1 playoffs as district champions and a top seed. They will play the Garden City Bearkats (6-4) this Friday at 7 p.m. at Klondike High School.

The Whitharral Panthers (9-0) earned a spot in the sixman 1A-2 playoffs as district champions and a top seed. They will play the Sands Mustangs (7-4) this Friday at 7 p.m. at Lubbock Trinity Christian High School.
