The 66th annual Caprock Classic is set for later this month on Dec. 29-31 in Lubbock, and six of our locally covered basketball teams are entered in and set to compete.
The Caprock Classic is a basketball tournament that is put on annually in Lubbock as a fundraiser for charity work. The profits are used to buy therapeutic tricycles for children and adults with disabilities, award scholarships to therapists to help others and they’re also dispersed to other local charities.
The Levelland boy’s will be competing in the “Boy’s Big School Division.” The Morton, Ropes and Whitharral boy’s will be competing in the “Boy’s Small School Division.” The Ropes and Whitharral girl’s will be competing in the “Small School Girl’s Division.”
Each team will get the opportunity to play at least four games guaranteed, and potentially even more depending on how much they win.
They’ll compete amongst nearly 90 other teams entered in, with the majority of the teams spanning from West to Central Texas, but there’s even a couple of teams from Oklahoma.
The tournament games will be played on several different courts across differing locations. The locations for each matchup will be released when the official brackets are revealed.
