Kade Franklin and Logan Delgado combined for 12 strikeouts to lead the visiting Ropes Eagles to a 10-0 shutout of the Post Antelopes in UIL High School Baseball action last Tuesday. Franklin took the win allowing only two hits over four innings with seven strikeouts.

The South Plains College men’s and women’s track and field teams opened the outdoor season on Saturday, combining for seven event titles at the WT Spring Break Open at the Buffalo Sports Complex on the campus of West Texas A&M University.

Whiteface High School hosted the 2023 Nolan Demel Relays last Friday with Whitharral, Morton and Anton all in attendance for the meet. For the boys, the host team placed first with a total of 170 points.

The South Plains College women’s basketball team will played for a fourth consecutive Region V Tournament Championship last Saturday following a 69-67 double OT thriller over McLennan last Friday in the semifinal at the Tiger Pit.

Hunter Torres pitched a five inning no-hitter to lead the Ropes Eagles past the Claude Mustangs in UIL high school baseball action last Thursday in Ira. Torres had 10 strikeouts and no walks in the effort. The Eagles led 1-0 through the third inning.

Loboette track team places third at Lamesa Meet

The Levelland Loboette varsity and junior varsity track teams competed at the Lamesa Meet last weekend. The Loboette varsity placed third ahead of Muleshoe with a total of 131 points. In the 200 meter dash, Ciarra Sanchez placed first with a time of 28.18.

Lobos score 122 points & places third

The Levelland Loboette varsity and junior varsity track teams competed at the Lamesa Meet last weekend. The Lobo varsity placed third overall with a total of 122 points. In the 200 meter dash, Matt Bautista placed third with a time of 23.97. Zeke Arias placed fourth with a time of 24.10.
