Bobcats endure late Bulldog rally

The Smyer Bobcats endured a seventh inning rally by the visiting Tahoka Bulldogs, coming away with a 5-4 UIL District 4-2A High School Baseball game last Saturday.

SPC runs at Texas Tech

The South Plains College men’s and women’s track and field teams wrapped up their second outdoor meet of the season Saturday afternoon at the Fuller Track and Field Complex, combining for three event titles at the Texas Tech Masked Rider Open.

SPC wins team title

Madison Neal and Emery Mask combined for 280 points as the South Plains College women’s rodeo team won the women’s team title Saturday at the Ranger College Rodeo at the Nolan County Coliseum. Neal led South Plains with a first place finish in goat tying, running a 6.

The Sundown Powerlifting Team traveled to Abilene last weekend to compete at the THSPA State Powerlifting Meet. Sundown placed fourth overall at the meet, while breaking to individual state records.

Area baseball teams run rule opponents

The Smyer Bobcats downed the visiting Borden County Coyotes 14-4 over six innings in a run rule shortened UIL high school baseball game last Monday.

SHS crush the Coyotes

The Sundown Roughnecks allowed two runs on three hits in an 11-2 UIL high school baseball win over the visiting Borden County Coyotes last Friday. Hunter Tindol took the win, going 4 1/3 innings with two runs on two hits and five strikeouts.
