Notching a pair of top 10 finishes over the weekend for the South Plains College men’s rodeo team, Brey Yore was tabbed the Men’s All-Around Champion of the Vernon College Rodeo. Yore posted a second place finish in tiedown roping, clocking a 9.4 in the long round and an 8.
PRESEASON TOP 20- The Texans won the Region V crown last season and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NJCAA Men’s Basketball National Tournament, were slotted at No. 19 in the men’s preseason national rankings. Bobcats keep playoff hopes alive

The Smyer Bobcats kept their playoff hopes alive with a 24-12 road win over the Morton Indians in UIL Region I, Class 2A-2, District 4 high school football action last Friday. Penalties hurt the Indians.
SCORELESS SECOND- The Lobos’ defense kept Borger off the second quarter and helped Levelland build a 14-7 halftime lead. Levelland defeated Borger 28-21 for their first district win. Lobos earn district win

The Levelland Lobos earned a 28-21 win on senior night, improving to 2-7 overall and 1-2 in district play as the regular season nears the end.

Panthers rolls past Cotton Center

The no. 5 ranked Whitharral Panthers went on the road last Friday and demolished the Cotton Center Elks 60-0 in a UIL Class 1A-2 District 2 high school football action.

Loboettes win district

The Levelland High School varsity cross country teams each had top five finishes at the district meet last Saturday Morning at Mae Simmons. The Levelland Loboettes varsity placed first overall at the meet and were crowned district champions.

The Levelland Lobos and Loboetttes cross country teams competed at the LCU Chap Preview at Lubbock Christian University Saturday Morning. The Levelland Loboettes varsity placed fourth overall. Results of the girls two mile run are: Ariani Lopez, 9th 13:12.. Evelyn Mendias, 15th 13:34.
