Lobos earn district win

The Levelland Lobos earned a 28-21 win on senior night, improving to 2-7 overall and 1-2 in district play as the regular season nears the end.

Panthers rolls past Cotton Center

The no. 5 ranked Whitharral Panthers went on the road last Friday and demolished the Cotton Center Elks 60-0 in a UIL Class 1A-2 District 2 high school football action.

Pictured in no particular order are: Evelyn Mendias, Ariani Lopez, Ciarra Sanchez, Emily Ramirez, Kaydence Escarcega, Alanis Valderas and Tea Johnson. The Loboettes are coached by Nelda Munoz. The Levelland High School varsity cross country teams each had top five finishes at the district meet last Saturday Morning at Mae Simmons. The Levelland Loboettes varsity placed first overall at the meet and were crowned district champions.

The Levelland Lobos and Loboetttes cross country teams competed at the LCU Chap Preview at Lubbock Christian University Saturday Morning. The Levelland Loboettes varsity placed fourth overall. Results of the girls two mile run are: Ariani Lopez, 9th 13:12.. Evelyn Mendias, 15th 13:34.

Whiteface back on the 20 with a kick into the end zone, but a 43 yard pass from Rendon to Borunda gave the Antelopes a first down and 15 on the Wolverine 17-yardline. Whiteface ended the drive with a 15 yard touchdown from Rendon to Kauffman as the fourth quarter opened. The Antelopes now trailed, 32-28. Antleopes rally late to beat Wolverines

The Whiteface Antelopes needed a big fourth quarter rally to overcome the visiting Springlake-Earth Wolverines, 50- 44 in the Antelopes final nondistrict UIL high school six-man football game last Friday.

Morton drops district opener

The Morton Indians dropped their district opener at home 22-2 to the Plains Cowboys in UIL Class 2A-2 Region 1 District 4 high school football action last Friday. The Indians are classification 1A, but have chosen to play up for an 11 man football schedule and have struggled with injuries as well.

Lobos fall short in district opener

Falling short at home, the Levelland Lobos began district play with a 28-10 loss against the Perryton Rangers Friday. A game highlighted by the run game for both teams, the Rangers were successful in putting together a string of explosive plays.
