The Smyer Lady Cats hosted the Sundown Roughettes for a district basketball matchup this past Friday night, resulting in the Roughettes beating the Lady Cats, 50-40.

The Whitharral Panthers basketball team competed in four games in the United Supermarkets Boy’s Bracket of the Caprock Classic in Lubbock this past Monday through Wednesday, where their star trio of Damian Rodriguez, Nate Sansom and Brent Robinson shined.

The Whitharral Lady Panthers basketball team competed in four games in the MCM Elegante Girl’s Bracket of the Caprock Classic in Lubbock this past Monday through Wednesday, showing fight and going 2-2 despite less-than-ideal circumstances.

Anton nearly upsets Floydada, losing 69-63

This past Monday, the Anton Bulldogs basketball team hosted the Floydada Whirlwinds, losing 69-63, after nearly pulling off the upset win.The loss drops the Bulldogs to 9-6 overall, but there’s no shame in almost taking down a class 2A school as a smaller end 1A school.
