DSHS launches interactive map pinpointing NARCAN locations

Governor Greg Abbott announced the launch of an online interactive map by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) that pinpoints where Texans can acquire for free or purchase life-saving Naloxone (NARCAN) as part of the statewide “One Pill Kills” campaign.

Plains Cotton Growers announces ECAP signups

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins, on National Agriculture Day, announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is issuing up to $10 billion directly to agricultural producers through the Emergency Commodity Assistance Program (ECAP) for the 2024 crop year.

SPC culinary arts program to host tour

Local high school students interested in continuing their culinary education at the college level are invited to South Plains College’s come-and-go registration and tour event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 2 at the college’s Lubbock Career and Technical Center.

Levelland Chamber, LEAP announce candidate forum

The Levelland Chamber of Commerce and Levelland Emerging and Active Professionals (LEAP) will be hosting a candidate forum.The forum is set for Tuesday, April 8, at the South Plains College Sundown Room located at 1401 S. College Avenue. The event will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

ABC Pro Rodeo returns

The ABC Pro Rodeo is coming to Levelland’s Mallet Event Center and Arena, April 35.To kick off the festivities, the ABC Pro Rodeo Organization and the Levelland Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, April 2, at 10 a.m. in the Expo Hall at the Mallet Event Center.

Hockley County Food Box accepting food donations

The Hockley County Food Box and South Plains Community Action continue to accept food and monitary donations.Working to keep families and individuals fed, the food box is accepting donations such as: canned vegetables, canned meat, canned fruit, dry goods and nonperishable food items.
