Lady Lopes tops Maidens, in Morton

The Whiteface Lady Lopes opened UIL District 7-1A high school girls’ basketball play with two wins last week, a 60-30 road win over the Lady Broncos from Meadow last Tuesday and a 7925 win over the visiting Morton Maidens on Friday.

Whiteface falls to Hornets, on the road

The Whiteface Antelopes dropped a 63-41 road loss to the Lorenzo Hornets last Tuesday in UIL High School Boys’ Basketball action. Lorenzo led 15-8 at the end of the first quarter and 27-11 at halftime. The third quarter score was 40-24 for Lorenzo. Auscar Gandara had 12 points.

Lady Eagles fall to New Home

The Ropes Lady Eagles fell to the visiting Lady Leopards from New Home 44-25 last Tuesday in UIL district 2A-5 girls’ high school basketball action. New Home was ranked fifth in class 2A by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches at the time of the game.
