The Ropes Eagles hosted the Seagraves Eagles for the teams district opener where they won 62-41. In the first quarter of the game, Ropes started off flat footed as they found themselves trailing 13-11.

Levelland ISD is reminding parents and families of early dismissal times for the holiday break beginning December 21. Academic Beginning Center will be releasing students at 12 p.m. along with Capitol and South Elementary. LMS and LHS will be releasing students at 12:30 p.m.

Roughnecks hunt down Bobcats, 51-41

The Smyer Bobcats fell 51-41 to the visiting Sundown Roughnecks in UIL high school boys’ basketball action last Friday. The game was tight with Smyer leading until the Roughnecks took a lead late in the third quarter and gradually began to pull away.
