LHS teams struggle in Snyder Tuesday

It was a tough day on Tuesday for the Levelland Lobos, who lost on the road 13-2 to Snyder in district action Tuesday. Snyder opened up scoring in the first inning when Tyler Clark singled on the first pitch of his at bat, which scored one run for the Tigers.

Eagles walk-off Bobcats Tuesday

The Ropes Eagles downed the visiting Smyer Bobcats 8-7 with a walk off walk in the bottom of the seventh inning last Friday in UIL District 4-2A High School Baseball action.

New Home Leopards knock-off Sundown

The New Home Leopards downed the Sundown Roughnecks 13-3 in a UIL District 4-2A home baseball game last Saturday. Mason Turnbow took the win, allowing all three runs on two hits with four strikeouts and three walks over 2 2/3 innings.

LHS JV places second

The Levelland High School junior varsity tennis team competed at the district meet in Snyder last week. Levelland placed second with a total of 70 points. In boys singles, Zavier Rodgers was district champion In girls singles, Paloma Escamilla was district champion and Dayanara Muñiz placed fourth.

WHS wins district

Whiteface High School varsity tennis teams competed at the district meet last week. The Antelopes claimed a district championship, while the Lady Antelopes were district runner ups. In boys singles, Alex Martinez placed third overall.

SPC men’s relay sets new national record

The South Plains College men’s 4x800 relay team highlighted the 95th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays by setting a new national, meet, and school record, as well as the No. 15 all-time collegiate mark Saturday at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

SPC rides at Western

The South Plains College men’s and women’s rodeo teams wrapped up their third rodeo of the spring semester over the weekend, competing at the Western Texas College Rodeo at the WTC Coliseum. Madison Neal led the Lady Texans with 110 points, turning in a second place finish in goat tying.

Whiteface runs at Sundown Relay

The Whiteface High School track teams competed at the Sundown Relays over the weekend. The Antelope varsity placed second as a team and the Antelope JV placed fifth. The Lady Lopes placed fifth as a team. In the 100 meter dash, Ethan Kauffman placed second. Julio Borunda placed fourth.
