Texans outlast Howard at the Dome

Jaden Harris scored a teamhigh 27 points and five Texans netted double figures Thursday as No. 15 South Plains outlasted Howard 84-78 at the Texan Dome.

Lady Lopes win fifth straight title

The Whiteface Lady Lopes earned their fifth straight district championship with a 67-11 domination of the visiting Amherst Lady Bulldogs in UIL district 71A high school girls’basketball action last Tuesday.

Lady Texans 7-0 in WJCAC

Celia Sumbane scored a game-high 21 points as the South Plains College women’s basketball team won their seventh straight game, besting Midland 57-41 last Saturday at the Texan Dome.

Texans drum New Mexico

The South Plains College men’s basketball team fell to Midland College 84-75 Saturday afternoon at the Texan Dome, moving to 17-5 on the season and 5-3 in league play. The Texans will look to get back in the win column on Monday when they host New Mexico Military Institute at 6:30 p.m. at the Dome.

Lobos coast past Lakeview

The Levelland Lobos are on a two-game win streak as they dominated the Lake View Chiefs in San Angelo, 69-28, Tuesday to improve to 5-3 in district play and secure a playoff spot.

Loboettes finish year undefeated in distirct

The Levelland Loboettes wrapped up district play, 10-0, against the San Angelo Lake View Maidens, 66-9, on the road Tuesday night. Outright district champions, 10-0, in district play and 29-3 on the season, the Loboettes will be in Merkel Monday at 6 p.m.

When the Whitharral Panthers and the Whiteface Antelopes get together on the basketball court the results can often be exciting and this season’s matchups have been no exception as the Panthers downed the visiting Antelopes 58-52 in their second meeting of the season.

Soccer signups continue

The Levelland Soccer Club is continuing to hold sign ups through February 28. The season is expected to begin March 21, for ages three through 16-years-old. Signups can be done at Champion Sports, 707 Houston Street, Levelland.
