The Roughnecks defeated Tahoka at home last Thursday and punched their tickets to the playoffs. The Roughnecks drew undefeated Stratford (10-0) for the first round of the playoffs to be played in Hereford on Thursday, November 10th.

Roughnecks grab post season spot

The Sundown Roughnecks hosted the Bulldogs of Tahoka on Thursday night with both teams fighting for a chance to stay alive in the playoff hunt and the Roughnecks emerged victorious 39-26.

Lady Texans net double figures

Four players scored in double figures Thursday night as the eighth-ranked South Plains College women’s basketball team pummeled Coastal Bend College 95-49 in the season opener at the Texan Dome.

Celia Sumbane and Vitoria Carvalho combined for 27 points and 12 boards as the eighthranked South Plains College women’s basketball team outlasted Dodge City 66-59 Saturday afternoon at the Texan Dome.

Roughnecks come up short in New Deal

Sundown visited New Deal to take on the district leading Lions Friday night with a possible playoff berth on the line and left with a 45-20 defeat. The first quarter belonged to the defenses until the Lions scored with 1:26 left in the quarter to take a 7-0 lead.

Panthers dominated the Longhorns Friday

The Whitharral Panthers dominated the Lazbuddie Longhorns last Friday, holding them to minus 27 yard of total offense on their way to a 54-0 UIL Class 1A-2 Region I, District 2 home win in a game shortened by the 45 point rule.
