Popelka finishes top 10 at 1A Golf State

The Whitharral Panthers competed at the 1A Boys Golf State Championship Tournament this past Monday and Tuesday at the Crystal Falls Golf Club in Leander, resulting in a top 10 individual finish for se nior Copper Popelka and a top 10 team finish for the Panthers.

Ropes baseball run-ruled Tahoka to clinch the 2A District 4 Co-Championship this past Friday at Ropes High School. The Eagles finished the game 16-4, securing an early victory in the fifth inning.The first inning was a slow start, with both teams remaining scoreless.

The Levelland Loboettes faced off against the Brock Lady Eagles in a best-ofthree softball series in the Bi-District round of the 4A Division 2 playoffs this past weekend at McMurry University. The Loboettes forced the series to the full three games but could not avoid elimination.

The Dallas Cowboys will be remaining at AT&T Stadium in Arlington for decades to come following a decision by the Arlington City Council.The council approved a major extension agreement that keeps the team in place through 2055.

The South Plains College rodeo program hosted the SPC Rodeo this past Thursday through Saturday at the Mallet Event Center & Arena, and the SPC competitors shined on their home turf.
