City Council regular meeting set Monday

The City of Levelland City Council will be holding a regular meeting Monday. October 16, at 6 p.m. at City Hall. Agenda items slated for the meeting are as follows: Consider and take necessary action to approve the minutes of the September 25, 2023, regular meeting.

RRC announces year end statistics, goals

Fiscal Year 2023 has now come to an end and the RRC has once again exceeded regulatory goals in its critical mission to protect communities and the environment, while Texas continues to be the top energy producing state in the nation.

SPC announces three distinguished alumni

South Plains College will honor three former students named 2023 Distinguished Alumni. Charles “Bo” Outlaw of San Antonio, John Stoll of Harlingen and Heath Wright of Vian, Okla., were confirmed during the SPC Board of Regents meeting last month.

Levelland Police Report

10/12/2023 - 1100 block of Sherman - 12:18 A.M. Officer with the LPD conducted a business watch in the area of S. Sherman Avenue. After an investigation was conducted, one adult female was arrested, transported and booked into the Hockley County Jail.

On Oct 6, 1964, President Linden B. Johnson signed Presidential Proclamation 3622 declaring Oct 15, 1964 as White Cane Safety Day in the United States. Each year thereafter individuals and organizations have acknowledged and celebrated White Cane Day.

Ag Committe, Chamber hosts Ag Awareness Tour

The Ag Committee and the Levelland Chamber of Commerce will host the Ag Awareness Tour Tuesday, October 31. The tour is offered to anyone who is interested in witnessing firsthand how the agricultural industry operates within the community. The tour is free to those that participate.

LISD announces campus closures Monday Oct. 16
