SPC Athletic Department sets annual golf scrammble

The South Plains College Athletic Department is set to host its annual Dennis Patton Texan Club Golf Scramble at the Levelland Country Club on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1st and 2nd. The tournament features a two-person scramble with tee times at 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

ANTELOPE QB1-Whiteface’s Jeremiah Rendon only threw the ball seven times, but he completed four for 58 yards and two touchdowns as the Antelopes downed the visiting Anton Bulldogs 53-6 in UIL high school six-man football action last Friday. The Antelopes will be in Wildorado at 7:30 p.m.

South Plains opens at LCU

The South Plains College men and women’s cross country teams opened the season Saturday at the Texas Tech Open at the LCU cross country course. Aron Tanui was the first runner across the line in the men’s 8k, posting a final time of 27:18.12. Maximus Palacios crossed the line in 28:36.

SPC places top five

Logan Kenline won the steer wrestling event title as the South Plains College men’s and women’s rodeo teams placed third and fifth respectively in their first rodeo of the season over the weekend at the Eastern New Mexico University Rodeo. Kenline posted a 4.

Morton suffers tough road loss

The Morton Indians found rough going in Boys’ Ranch last Thursday as they fell 26-0 to the Roughriders in UIL high school 11-man football action. Boys’ Ranch led 12-0 in the first quarter and at half-time. They added eight in the third quarter and six in the fourth quarter.

The Levelland High School cross country teams competed at the Lubbock Invitational at Lubbock Christian University last Saturday Morning. The Levelland Loboettes varsity placed seventh of 21teams. Results of the girls two mile run are: Ariani Lopez, 21st 13:33. Evelyn Mendias, 28th 13:52.
