Loboettes blast Phillies 70-49, at home

The Levelland Loboettes took on the Denver City Fillies at home for their non-district UIL 4A Region 1 District 5 High School Basketball Game matchup where the girls won 70-49. At first the game would be a tight one as both teams wouldn’t outshine the other.

Morton’s season comes to an end in Canyon

The Morton Indians faced off against the Wellington Skyrockets this past Thursday at Happy State Bank Stadium in Canyon in High School Football District 2A-2 in the Area Round of playoffs.

Whitharral season comes to End

The Whitharral Panthers fell to the Klondike Cougars 64-16 in the Area Round of the UIL Class 1A-2 High School Football Playoffs in Hermleigh last Friday. The 45-point rule was invoked to end the game with just over two minutes left.

Whitharral girls open basketball with wins

The Whitharral Lady Panthers opened the High School Girls Basketball season with back to back wins last week. Whitharral 58, Tahoka 39 The Whitharral Lady Panthers had little trouble with the Tahoka Lady Bulldogs with a 58-39 UIL High School Girls’ Basketball win last Tuesday in Tahoka.

Loboettes handle Lady Cubs, at home

The Levelland Loboettes keep their undefeated season alive as they played against the Brownfield Lady Cubs this past Tuesday where they won 73-27, at home. The game looked to be a very defensive game as both teams were struggling to get anything going at the end of the first quarter.

Lobos down Bobcats 81-41, at home

The Levelland Lobos played their second game of the UIL Boys High School Basketball season against the Dimmitt Bobcats at home where they won 81-41, due to a second half rally. The Lobos started off the game with a small lead of seven points in the first quarter.

Smyer Boys Basketball

The Smyer Bobcats fell 61-43 to the visiting Southcrest Christian School in boys’ high school basketball action last Tuesday. Southcrest led 11-5 at the end of the first quarter and 31-19 at halftime. The Bobcats trailed 46-30 at the end of three periods. Rylan Smith had 22 points.

Smyer Girls Basketball

The Smyer Lady Cats took their skills on the road last Tuesday, earning a 74-47 UIL High School Girls’ Basketball win over the Springlake-Earth Lady Wolverines. “We came out hot and never looked back,” said Smyer Head Girls’ Basketball Coach Todd Nichols.
